November Update!

Lynda Spiro - There is Always More To Say

Oh dear! I’ve seriously let myself down. I’ve fallen behind on my resolution to blog monthly. What on earth happened to October? I’ve no idea. It came and went without me almost noticing. And now we’re over halfway through November. Aargh!! This means it’s Christmas very, very soon and time to start sorting out the Christmas stockings. My absolute best! I love nothing more than trawling the internet (in recent years!) and traipsing up and down the high-street shops looking for useful but also amusing and meaningful gifts for the children. They are now 28 and 26 years old and still await their stockings with anticipation (unless they are both just humouring me?!)

Since my return from Australia (over two months ago!), I’ve been head down. Writing, writing, and more writing. And then deleting, deleting, and more deleting! And then rewriting. But I’m pleased to say that the hard work is paying off. Finally! I never imagined…

I’m incredibly privileged to be working with an editor this time around. Something I never experienced when writing There Is Always More To Say. And I must say it’s fantastic. I feel really, really lucky. It’s great being able to sound off ideas with someone. I’m learning so much. I absolutely love our sessions together. We meet up monthly. The week before our meet up I send the manuscript off, which we then go through with a fine-tooth comb during our session the following week. It is so helpful. And rather enlightening, too!

Whilst mentioning There Is Always More To Say I’d just like to add how thrilled I am that the Big Book Award NYC has recognised it in the category of Friendship as a Distinguished Favorite.

The competition is judged by experts from different aspects of the book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters.

The awards sponsor, Gabrielle Olczak, said:

“In 2017, we had worldwide participation, from Australia to Ghana; India to London; and across the U.S., and are so proud to announce the winners and favourites in our annual NEW YORK CITY BIG BOOK AWARD.  Fact is, great content can be found around the globe, whether created from an individual author or a major publishing house, and we are happy to propagate their achievements.”

That’s all for now! I’ll be sure to keep you all updated. Sooner rather than later. Sorry, it’s been a crazy time. And I reckon the holidays will be sure to add even more chaos! Aaargh!
